LA Courts Reporter
2018 - present
I cover civil cases in both state and federal courts in Los Angeles, producing two to four stories a day that cover anything from class actions and employment suits to intellectual property and copyright disputes. I’ve never been to law school, but I get a crash course every single day.

Crime and Courts Reporter
2015 - 2018
As the crime and courts reporter, I primarily covered state and federal courts in the city of Charlottesville and Albemarle County. I also write enterprise stories about the local criminal justice system in general and dig into stories about people caught up in the system.

On top of my regular beat, I also write a variety of feature pieces ranging from archaeological discoveries at Thomas Jefferson's Monticello to a police-constructed skate park for kids to a local group trying to help teen survivors of sexual assault.
